Pricing starts at 99,800 yen for the smallest 128GB of storage space.This was a little unexpected.I thought it would be a little less expensive.
The price difference between the iPhone 16e and the iPhone 16 unbranded is 25,000 yen, and the price difference between the iPhone 16e and the iPhone 15 unbranded is 13,000 yen.It is whether you see it as expensive or inexpensive based on the reduced features.
Qi instead of MagSafe
This was a bit of a disappointment.
MagSafe is used not only for charging but also for securing accessories.I use the ring to hang it on my finger regularly, so I wanted to keep this feature if possible.
But I use a strap to put the case on and put it between the two, and charging is done with a Type-C cable, so it is not a big problem.
GPU 1 core reduced
Since the Nueral Engine will be used for AI inference, one less GPU core will have no impact on me.
Is it a yield measure for the core?(Then you could lower the price a little more…)
Deletion of some communication functions
Some communication functions have been removed because the chip for communication has been manufactured in-house.

Camera and screen area
For those who value photography and video, the iPhone 16e is not an option.The camera performance is a step above the rest.
In particular, the unavailability of the wide-angle side will have a significant impact.
The screen also seems to drop a little.The brightness drops slightly, which may be a concern for those using a brighter screen.
For me, neither of these items are of concern.
The rechargeable batteries seem to hold up well
Although on specs, the rechargeable battery seems to last longer than the iPhone 16 unbranded or iPhone 15 unbranded.
This is the only positive aspect of many of the reduced features.
Is this the effect of in-house production of communication chips?

Considering 25,000 yen for MagSafe, camera and 1 core GPU, I would choose iPhone 16e.
