Create a bare WordPress locally

I’m thinking of putting together a summary of the Twenty Twenty Five theme, but I can’t revert this site back to plain WordPress now, so I had to create a local environment where I could run WordPress.

Come to think of it, this is the first time for me to build a WordPress environment from scratch, since I have only installed it on a rental server with easy installation.

Out of personal interest, I built it on WSL2 Ubuntu on Windows 11.I started with nginx as my web server, but I could run php, but when I started WordPress, I got a blank page or 403 error and couldn’t get to the admin panel.I see that .htaccess doesn’t work with nginx, what about OpenLiteSpeed?I don’t have time to try it today, but I would like to create a WordPress environment with nginx and OpenLiteSpeed as well.

We will publish how to make it later on note.com in a form that “anyone can do”.

Passed Google AdSense

Passed Google AdSense.

The first application was rejected after 2 weeks; I made a pseudo-global menu and reapplied, which was accepted within a few days.It may be necessary to set up a basic structure of the site equivalent to a global menu at the beginning of the top page.

The breadcrumb list, privacy policy, and contact form were already in place, so only the pseudo-global menu was added. The number of articles exceeded 100, but the search inflow is still small.

Maybe it is better to target a narrower audience right after the blog is launched. So maybe publishing a few longer articles will make it worthwhile.

In the case of a miscellaneous blog, it seems difficult to get people to recognize the “value of blogging,” which I wrote about at the end of this article. However, this site has a basic policy, but I will try to make more miscellaneous articles in the content.

Hold off on adding to what’s on the hamburger menu

In order to serve a hamburger menu with the standard WordPress functionality, a navigation block is used. The content of the navigation block is selected from the design navigation.Only fixed pages or links can be included in the navigation.

Therefore, the hamburger menu cannot contain a list of the latest posts or a list of categories. It would be possible to manually add at least an archive, but it is not an automatic increase, so it is likely to be forgotten.

So, we will hold off on adding various things to the current hamburger menu.We will revisit the issue again to see if we can handle it with a plugin or create our own.

Musubi

I spent a lot of time struggling with nginx and didn’t make much progress on what I wanted to do.I will work one day tomorrow and then Tuesday is my day off.I hope to make some progress then.
