Try various Cache plugins

City skyline at sunset over water.

The update of the LiteSpeed Cache plugin for the other site did not work, so I migrated to another Cache plugin for now. Finally, I decided on the W3 Total Cache plugin.

Tried Cache Plug-ins

I have tried various Cache plugins on this site.

I had never used anything but the LiteSpeed Cache plugin before, so I tried a few different things.

  • WP Super Cache
  • WP Optimize
  • Super Page Cache
  • Jetpack Boost
  • Optimole (image optimization, delivery from CDN)
  • W3 Total Cache

There was no plugin with equivalent functionality to the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, and something had to be given up.

Also, desktop scores are good, but mobile scores do not improve much. In this area, I found the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to be the most versatile and effective in combination with LiteSpeed server.

However, we cannot continue to use it when Cache does not work and UCSS cannot be generated properly.

Use W3 Total Cache plugin

The following items were prioritized in our search

  • Cloudflare CDN 連携
  • Conversion of images to WebP
  • Lazy Load of images
  • CSS and JavaScript minify and a little optimization

Of the choices, the W3 Total Cache plugin met the most requirements. We decided to use the W3 Total Cache plugin for the time being.

The mobile PageSpeed Insights score is around 60, so we are one step closer, but we will use the W3 Total Cache plugin until the LiteSpeed Cache plugin is stable and working.

I have been too busy with my day job to update daily.

I thought I could get 30 minutes a day, but I am too tired from my day job to blog.

We will try to regroup a bit more and get back to daily updates.
