Block Visibility plugin is awesome!
I have written many times about how useful the Block Visibility plugin is, but after using it again last night, I found it to be an even more amazing plugin.
So far, we have used the Block Visibility plugin to make the site multilingual, showing and hiding text and blocks depending on the language type; the Bogo plugin appends a string to the URL for each language, so you can switch between languages by including the characters: none for Japanese, en for English, zh for Simplified Chinese, and “/” before and after.Chinese: zh, and a “/” before and after the string.
Last night I used it to switch the ads that are displayed.
I added an ad for A8.net’s ABLENET on this page, but initially placed it at 468 px wide, so it was wider than the block of text on the mobile display and overhung it.
Therefore, we changed the display to switch between two widths: 468 px width for PCs and 320 px width for mobile devices.
In addition to URLs, the display can also be switched by device type.It has a wider range of applications than I initially expected, and I find it a very useful plugin for me.
And yet, there is no negative impact on PageSpeed Insight’s CLS; the CLS remains at zero.Amazing.
We expect that the range of applications will expand further in the future, and we would like to write an article about it each time.
Updated with Anker A7726 Mini Keyboard
I took this afternoon off, so I am updating from outside the office.Taking more time than usual to slowly update my blog during the day in an outside environment, not at home or at the office, is a new sensation that I think I will get into the habit of doing.
The Keychron K8 / K8 Pro I use at work and at home is easy to use but a bit bulky, so I use the Anker A7726 mini keyboard that was lying around at home. The key touch is a little hard, the keys are pressed in a little less, and the key pitch is a little narrower, but it is US keyboard, so I can use it without feeling uncomfortable.Above all, it is light, thin, and not bulky, so you don’t have to worry about putting it in the cracks of your bag.A few negative aspects can be covered by the many positive aspects.
I looked at my Amazon purchase history and found that I purchased it in September 2018, so it is 7 years old.I use it infrequently and have only had to replace the battery a couple of times, but it is inexpensive and I feel I am getting a good return on my investment.
This keyboard is not recommended for regular use as a quicksilver. The key touch is hard, so it will tire you out in everyday use.I think it will be useful in the kind of usage where you carry it with you and use it on the go.
Since iOS keyboards are US keyboard, the Anker A7726 is also US keyboard. At times like this, I feel glad that I graduated from the JIS keyboard and switched to the US keyboard.
I note that the swamp of mini keyboards is also deep.If I buy any more keyboards, I will have no place to put them and no use for them.I really want to try a folding keyboard, but I don’t have many opportunities to use a keyboard on the go, so I haven’t touched it.
I would like to continue to use it on the go until the Anker A7726 fails.
Unfinished business of multilingualization
The posting date and the last update date were in Japanese, so we fixed them.We sometimes forget to translate some parts, so we are fixing them as soon as we find them.
DeepL Translation habits
As a frequent user of the DeepL translation, I have noticed that in translations into Simplified Chinese, the subject is often “we” instead of “I”.Sometimes both are mixed up, even when translated at once in a single paragraph.
This area is probably influenced by the text from which you are learning. This is not the case in English. This is probably a phenomenon unique to Japanese, where the subject can be omitted.
Long time no coffee
I am writing this text over a cup of hot coffee.
I have always loved coffee and have been grinding and making it from beans at home since high school. When I was in college, I brought a complete set, including a mill, to the lab and drank several cups a day.Sometimes I would serve them to others.
Basically, I used to make it by hand with a dripper.I enjoyed watching the coffee grounds expand in the filter when freshly ground beans were put in the mill and hot water was added, and furthermore, I liked the way the aroma of coffee spread not only in the room but also throughout the building.
I had duodenal ulcers twice after entering the workforce, and now that I have had the H. pylori bacteria eradicated, I no longer have stomach pain, but the pain in my stomach was so painful, and at one point I could not eat solid food because the stomach outlet was blocked, and the bleeding caused anemia, so even the coffee I loved is now moderate.
I used to love to drink alcohol, but for other reasons I hardly drink at all, so I have to resist consuming both of my favorite beverages of my youth.
Every once in a while, a cup of coffee at a time when I can relax is a precious luxury for me.
