It rained all day Sunday.

The room is heated by a kerosene heater, so it is warm inside, but once you step outside, it feels cold.

Usually, we do not need to use the heater, but this year we bought 10 liters of kerosene.It sometimes gets warm suddenly, so we are careful not to run out of kerosene.

On cold days like this, it is best to stay inside.

I will not use Google Font for Japanese and Simplified Chinese

I was thinking about what to do with the Japanese and Simplified Chinese fonts for this blog, but in the end I decided not to use Google Font.

The body tag has a class of ja for Japanese, en-US for English, and zh-CN for Simplified Chinese.Using this, it is possible to add font-family to each language page with CSS.

However, Japanese and Simplified Chinese fonts are large and take a long time to load, which may adversely affect PageSpeed Insights and GT metrix results.

If that is the case, I reconsidered that it would be better to distribute the current Google Font for English only from the site, and leave Japanese and Simplified Chinese to browsers as sans-serif.

So, we will not change the font area as it is now.

LiteSpeed Cache UCSS generation progress

We are trying to generate UCSS after February 21, 2025.

As of today, LiteSpeed Cache’s page optimization usage is 59%, with about 820 remaining; UCSS has 32 left to generate, so there are 790 left.

It may be difficult to generate all the UCSS for February 2025 by the end of this month.

PageSpeed Insights results were Mobile 81, Desktop 97; Chrome Developer Tools Lighthouse results were Mobile 58, Desktop 86.

The GTmetrix results for the blog home are Grade A, Performance 99%, Structure 99%.

Considering that there is a lot of JavaScript in Google AdSense, this is a good result.However, we would like to improve it a little more.

Somehow I’m thinking that LiteSpeed Cache alone would be difficult to use, and that I would need to sign up for Cloudflare APO for WordPress.
